On a daily basis, The National Constitution Center (NCC) on Independence Mall in Philadelphia echoes with the sounds of thousands of school children of all ages from around the country. A primary mission of the NCC is to inspire educators and their students by telling the story of the Constitution's past and explaining the principles of its present to show how "We, the People" - teachers and students - can shape the story of our nation's future.
The American Center for Educators has teamed up with the National Constitution Center to offer a unique approach to civics education. The NCC's Civics Education Series provides professional development courses and credits for educators in a completely online format. In these courses, top experts, including former Pennsylvania First Lady and Third Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Marjorie Rendell, use selected relevant case studies to help educators gain a clear understanding of the Constitution. Ultimately these courses will provide educators with dynamic content which can easily be incorporated into lesson plans.
